Dow’s Fine Tawny Port is a type of fortified wine produced in the Douro Valley of Portugal. Unlike Ruby Port, Tawny Port is aged for a longer period of time, which results in a more mature, nutty and caramel-like flavour.
In terms of taste, Dow’s Fine Tawny Port has notes of caramel, nuts, and dried fruit such as raisins, with a hint of spice. The wine has a smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel and a slightly sweet finish.
Dow’s Fine Tawny Port pairs well with a variety of foods, including cheese, chocolate, and desserts with a nutty or caramel flavour. It is also often enjoyed on its own as an after-dinner drink.
The alcohol by volume (ABV) of Dow’s Fine Tawny Port is approximately 19%. The wine comes in a standard 750ml bottle size, which is commonly known as a “full” or “standard” bottle.
